Scultptural 3d Tiles

Layers of Possibility

The world is full of surfaces that fall flat. Let’s change that.

Use our groundbreaking concrete digital fabrication process to reshape the world around you. Wherever you see a surface, consider how you could transform it into a sculptural experience.

Case Study

This piece was designed by the Artscapes team for an Iowa State University alum. An original work inspired by Christen Petersen, this high relief depicts Jack Trice in front of the Iowa State University pedestrian bridge leading to the stadium dedicated in his honor.

The starting point for any scultpural tile set is a 3d file, whether mesh, NURBS, or SubD.

In this case, we created a mesh and verified it was suitable for printing.

For your project, we can create the model for you or provide feedback early in the process on any changes required to a model you supply.

Given a suitable model, we produced a final rendering to show the client.

The overall dimensions of the piece and the look of the artwork were reviewed and approved.

Finally, the tiles were fabricated and installed.

Our sculptural tiles can be unpigmented, integrally colored, or painted/stained after curing.

For this project, tiles were fabricated with unpigmented concrete and later stained to produce a stone look.

Stained and installed tile set. Here the sculptural tiles were used to create a focal artpiece covering only part of a wall.

We offer several methods to add color to our relief tiles.
